The BMW M3 is available in three body styles: sedan, coupe, and convertible. All of the body styles are powered by a 4.0-liter V8 engine that pumps out an impressive 414 horsepower. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, with an optional seven-speed dual-clutch automated-manual transmission (M DCT) available.
The BMW M3 comes well-equipped with a multitude of standard features including 18-inch wheels, automatic windshield wipers, automatic and adaptive xenon headlights, auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, eight-way power front seats, driver memory functions, and a ten-speaker audio system with HD radio and an auxiliary audio jack. The coupe body style adds a carbon-fiber roof and split-folding rear seat, while the convertible gets a fully powered retractable hardtop as well as sun-reflective leather.
If more features are desired, the M3 also has multiple add-on packages. The Cold Weather package adds heated front seats and retractable headlight washers. The Premium package enhances with BMW Assist telematics, power-folding auto-dimming mirrors, and Bluetooth capability. The Technology package adds a navigation system, electronic damping control, keyless ignition/entry and the iDrive electronics interface.
The sedan and coupe can be equipped with the Competition package, which includes EDC (electronic damping control), upgraded 19-inch wheels with high-performance tires and a lowered suspension.
The BMW M3 comes standard with many safety features. The features include anti-lock brakes, front seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, traction control, and stability control. The M3 convertible lacks side curtain airbags, but the front-side airbags extend up to head level.
